About Off Leash Play

What is Off Leash Play?

Off leash play is available for an hour every weekday for our pack of approved dogs and takes place in a private rented yard. This is a great option for pups who like to run and play hard or sniff and explore, but without all the unknowns of public dog parks. Off Leash Play is a great way for your dog to socialize, enjoy an area outside of their neighborhood, get exercise, and gain confidence. This is a popular service, and all our Pack dogs get so excited to go run and romp with their buddies!

We rent yards on Sniffspot and Rome. These are apps that allow for rental of private yards for set periods of time. Private yards allow us to control the many variables that may take place in public dog parks. This is a valuable space for your pup to play and socialize if they are dog selective or reactive. We take time to introduce all dogs to each other on a leashed Pack Walk and get them used to riding in the car together before they play off leash to make sure they are a good candidate for Pack Play.

How do I know if my dog is a good match for Off Leash Play?

Dogs who are a good match our pack will:

  • be respectful of other dogs and easy to redirect

  • love to run and romp, or love to sniff and explore

  • enjoy companionship of other dogs and humans

  • be able to stay calm with other dogs in a small space (car rides)

  • listen and respond to commands well

Shy and anxious dogs have had great experiences coming out of their shells after attending Off Leash Play sessions with us. We are happy to work with your pup and their needs as long as they are happy to work with us! All types of personalities are welcome, from rowdy players to independent pups. We have no breed or size restrictions (as long as we have room in the car!).

When does Off Leash Play happen?

Off Leash Play takes place during late morning/early afternoon every Monday-Friday. We start pickups around 9:30-10 AM and take the pups to the yard to play for a full hour. We drop your dog back off at home between 11:30-1pm.

How much does Pack Play Cost?

$50 per session, $25 per 2nd dog.

Here is our onboarding process for integrating new dogs into our pack:

  1. We take your dog on 1-2 solo walks so that we can get to know your dog and assess if they are a good fit. If it seems like your pup needs more time to get comfortable with us, we may suggest additional walks.

  2. We introduce our dog Birdie and take them on one or more buddy walks. Birdie attends most Pack outings with us, so this ensures that they already have a good friend when they start to play with the group.

  3. We take your dog for a pack walk in your neighborhood. We will bring the pack to you this time. We may give them a chance to try riding in the car with the other dogs after walking together to practice for the next step.

  4. We take your dog for another leashed Pack Walk on a nearby trail if more time is needed, otherwise they are welcome to join Off Leash Play if they seem ready to play!
